筲箕灣官立中學是典型官校，校風良好、成績不俗，管教較自由，功課壓力小，學生愉快學習。面試注重語文與時事，收生以B1為主。適合希望孩子全面發展、不追求高壓學習的家庭。
校風良好，學生表現出色，官校風格較自由，非谷讀書，但管教不算嚴，中一須參加紀律部隊活動。朋輩競爭不明顯，學生返學開心。近年仍保持成績與校風，但校園環境侷促。
