Transfer admission
Transfer admission has no unified mechanism. Each school decides when to release places, how many, and how to assess—so the core is 'which school has a vacancy now'.

Process
- Whole year
See which schools have vacancies
You can only apply when a school has a vacancy. There's no unified announcement; windows are scattered throughout the year, each school sets its own. This step takes most of the effort.
- Set by each school
Apply to each school
Application forms, deadlines, and tests are set by each school. Usually tests cover Chinese, English, and Math.
- Set by each school
Written test / interview
Exam date clashes are common; prioritize early.
Easiest to get wrong
- "Not found" doesn't mean "no vacancies", nor does it mean "closed". The windows in our database have four statuses: Open, Upcoming, Unknown, Closed — Unknown means unknown, we don't pretend to know. If you see "Unknown", call the school directly.
- Choosing a primary school for transfer also determines your secondary school net six years later (because Part B follows your primary school). Transferring isn't just about this year.
- After Form 4, transfer admission is limited by DSE subject combinations, and the schools you can choose from shrink dramatically — you need to match subjects before you can talk.
