Process

1. Whole year See which schools have vacancies

   You can only apply when a school has a vacancy. There's no unified announcement; windows are scattered throughout the year, each school sets its own. This step takes most of the effort.

2. Set by each school Apply to each school

   Application forms, deadlines, and tests are set by each school. Usually tests cover Chinese, English, and Math.

3. Set by each school Written test / interview

   Exam date clashes are common; prioritize early.

Easiest to get wrong

• "Not found" doesn't mean "no vacancies", nor does it mean "closed". The windows in our database have four statuses: Open, Upcoming, Unknown, Closed — Unknown means unknown, we don't pretend to know. If you see "Unknown", call the school directly.
• Choosing a primary school for transfer also determines your secondary school net six years later (because Part B follows your primary school). Transferring isn't just about this year.
• After Form 4, transfer admission is limited by DSE subject combinations, and the schools you can choose from shrink dramatically — you need to match subjects before you can talk.
